Mayor's Corner

One of the most frequently asked questions I get around the Holidays - whether it be Christmas, Memorial Day, 4th of July or any other Holiday throughout the years is this; What day will my Trash and recycling be picked up?

Since Christmas and New Year fall on a Monday this year, there will be no pickups scheduled on Monday the 25th or Monday the 1st.  All trash and recycling pickups for Christmas and New Year’s week will be delayed one day.

During this Holiday Season please remember our Military Men and Women deployed around the world who will not be able to be “Home for Christmas”: as well as our “First Responders” that continue to work and keep us safe during the Holiday Season.

This simple story of Christmas speaks to every generation and holds a sense of wonder and surprise.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

During this time of joy and peace, may we surround ourselves with family and friends and take time to reflect on our blessings and the coming year.

From all of us at City Hall - we wish each one of you a very Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year.  City Hall will be closed December 25 and 26th and Monday January 1st, so our employees can spend time with family and friends.
