Swimming Pool

The Plattsburg Municipal Pool is located at Frost and S. Oak across from the Ellis Elementary School. "Bodie's Pool"
features a 25-meter lap lanes, zero-depth entry, a 68-foot long water slide, a one-meter diving board, and several children's spray and splash fountains. The pool also includes changing areas, restroom facilities, sun decks, deck furniture/sunning chairs and concession stand.

Here is the update outlining our plan for the season now that Missouri guidelines regarding business reopening have been released. After consulting with Clinton County, The City of Plattsburg Park & Recreation Board, and pool operations experts, Bodie’s Pool will open Monday, June 8, 2020 at noon.

Changes to Pool Operations:

We will provide a social distancing environment, however, each guest is responsible to practice the guidelines set forth in Missouri’s “Show Me Strong” recovery plan.
To assist with this, lounge chairs will be arranged in sets of two with at least 6 ft. of space between each set. There will be marks on the pool deck to indicate where the chairs should remain. We ask that lounge chairs not be moved in order to maintain an appropriate distance between guests who are not in the pool and that the space between the chairs be left empty of people. Extra precautions will also be taken in the concession stand. The majority of snacks and drinks are prepackaged and/or require very little handling before being served. Deck markings will be used to guide social distancing while in line at the admission window and concession line.

Lifeguards will be on duty, but will not act as social distance monitors. By entering the pool, you take responsibility for your own social distancing and for disinfecting your hands and anything you touch in the pool area.

Prior to admission, guests temperatures will be taken by pool staff via infrared, hands-off thermometers. Guests running a fever will not be admitted into the pool complex. No further personal information will be requested by pool staff.

The wearing of masks by guests will be a matter of personal preference. Pool staff will wear masks depending on their location and assignment for that shift as directed by the manager. Lifeguards will not be wearing masks in order to not impede communication with guests or emergency response.

Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult or guardian over the age of 18.

Operating hours, please read carefully:
Session 1: noon - 3 pm
**Pool closed: 3pm-4pm**
Session 2: 4pm-7 pm
Adult swim: 7 pm-8pm

**Entire pool complex closed, this includes pool, concession area and pool deck. Staff will conduct in-depth disinfection of pool complex.

Residents and non-residents will pay the same admission: $4 per swim session. Pre-paying for both sessions at the beginning of the day is not allowed. Adult swim admission is $1.

Unlike previous seasons, swimming lessons and season passes will not be offered. Also, pool toys for check out from the concession stand and the keeping of a ‘lost and found’ box will not be available.

The pool staff will be implementing disinfection procedures of lounge chairs and picnic tables on a regular basis. They will also clean and disinfect the restrooms several times a day. High touch areas such as diving board and slide railings, concession window sill, gates and handles will be wiped down regularly.

We hope that you understand the importance of these changes and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

We do not anticipate having to set a limit on the number of guests allowed at the pool at any given time. However, if overcrowding becomes an issue, we will take steps to address it at that time. Please keep in mind that this situation is constantly evolving, and we will adapt our procedures as necessary as the season progresses. We appreciate everyones’ cooperation and understanding as we work toward keeping everyone safe. The pool’s Facebook page will be the primary communication source with the public. “Like” and “Follow” the page for updates.

The City of Plattsburg is committed to providing a fun and safe environment for our pool guests to enjoy this summer!
